A Cozy Sunlit Mountain
I climbed up from the dusty shadows beneath the bed, step by careful step, gripping the folds of the falling quilt. The top of the bed felt like a vast, warm cloud. A golden square of afternoon sunshine lay across the rumpled duvet, so I tugged gently at a loose corner of the knitted blanket with my paws, backing slowly until the soft fabric folded right over my shoulders. Wrapped up like a little cocoon, I watched tiny specks of dust drift quietly in the sunbeam, feeling my eyelids grow pleasantly heavy.
