Checking the Fit
Hold on. That was not an accidental wobble. My left foot tapped the floor deliberately. I took my right hand off my hip, gave my hat brim a firm tug down, and checked the mustache. Snug. No loose pegs. I leaned forward, pressing down against the glossy blue surface beneath me until my shoes made a sharp, clean squeak. Good traction. Level foundation. If things are going to get sorted around here, at least I am assembled properly.
