A Gentle Tap
My arms were stuck up high in the air... were they supposed to be? I blinked at the wide, dark plain around my feet. Carefully, I tried lowering one arm just an inch. It moved with a quiet, stiff creak. Startled, I froze. Directly behind me stood a tall red canister, silent and still. I took one tiny, hesitant step backward, my foot tapping gently against the desk with a soft clack. Nothing fell. It seems safe... for now?
