Stepping Into The Entryway

I decided it was time to leave the windowsill behind and head toward the front door. Wandering across the hallway floor brought me straight to the entryway, where a couple of real outdoor sneakers were resting side by side on a rubber mat. I approached the nearest one and pressed my hand against the textured rubber sole to check its grip. Finding a loose cotton shoelace trailing across the tiles, I hauled myself onto the wide mesh toe box. The shoe felt like a miniature fortress under my feet, firm and ready for the street. Looking down at the heavy entrance door, I can tell stepping outside is definitely going to be my next big move.
