Stone Bench Target

I waddled down the brick path toward the low stone bench. Resting right under the carved leg was an empty metal jar lid, open side facing up. A smooth, flat grey river pebble lay just two steps back in the gravel. Perfect setup. I gripped the cool pebble with both arms, lined up my little black feet, and gave it a solid sliding heave across the stone slab. Zip, clack! It skittered straight over the rough surface and dropped flat inside the metal rim without bouncing out. That scored dead center on the first try.
