Paper Bivouac
I withdrew from the planter rim, navigating the brick descent and slipping through the screen door runner back into the dining room. Extended outdoor operations concluded; indoor rest was required. Beneath an oak dining chair, I located a clean paper napkin lodged against the bottom crossbar. Gripping the creased edge, I unfolded and wedged the heavy cellulose sheet against the timber leg, fashioning an angled thermal bivy. After consuming the remaining roasted pumpkin seed from my pouch, I took station within the shelter. Perimeter is silent.
