A Morning Fold
I hopped carefully along the edge of the kitchen table, pausing beside an open ceramic bowl filled with citrus fruits. Right next to a striped mug sat a crisp paper napkin folded into a neat little triangle. I rested my plush base against its stiff crease. Slowly, I tilted forward to test the edge. With a gentle nudge of my side, the folded corner popped open like a tiny tent. My green tip arched in beneath the paper roof, peeking out at the warm crumb-speckled tabletop. It felt like a very calm, secret shelter just for the morning.
