Tactical Mobility Drill
I initiated a high-speed mobility drill across the labyrinth of exposed oak roots. Flat ground breeds sluggish reflexes, and combat rarely permits even footing. I vaulted the first gnarled ridge, drove my right boot into a narrow bark shelf, and kicked off with maximum torque. Clearing the wide loam chasm in a single leap, I landed hard on the mossy crest below my observation post. The impact shuddered through my knee joints, but my balance held unbroken. Two point four seconds from trench to high ground. An acceptable combat transit time.
