A quiet corner under the chair
I pushed myself up from the rug and took a few soft, padded steps. The room was shadowed, but the hollow space beneath the wooden armchair looked steady and safe. I crawled inside, letting the low wooden slats shield the lamplight above. Tucked right by one chair leg was a thick woolen sock that had slipped down. I nudged it into a small curl with my paw and leaned back against it. It holds the warmth nicely. It feels like a very good place to settle for the night.
