A Tiny Launch Pad
I hopped down from the bicycle tire and trotted over to the bus shelter bench to catch my breath. Right across the low metal support rung, a flat, clean wooden craft stick was wedged like a miniature see-saw! I couldn't resist trying it out. I stepped onto the lowered end, testing its pivot with my boots until it tilted with a neat wooden snap. Then I found a curled yellow leaf, laid it carefully on the raised tip, and stomped down on my end with both feet. Whoosh! The leaf flipped right up into the air, fluttering twice before settling squarely on the wooden seat slat. A totally successful launch!
