Night Sector Survey
Exterior darkness fell. I ascended from the terracotta sector to the metal balcony railing for scheduled night perimeter reconnaissance. Below me, the street lamps formed an imperfect line across the asphalt. Gross deviation. But at my feet, an immediate tactical asset appeared: an abandoned wooden clothespin clamped sideways against the iron rail. Angled wrong. I leaned my plastic shoulder against the wooden peg and levered hard with both hands. It yielded with a sharp snap, locking flush against the steel flange. Now it forms a rigid ninety-degree sighting notch. I placed both boots behind it, aligned my cap visor, and commenced long-range observation.
