Checking the Reflection
A proper lady never begins her grand adventure without checking her makeup first, sweetheart. I hoisted myself up onto the vanity table, marching straight past a forest of tall perfume bottles until I found an open compact mirror. Standing right before the tilted glass, I tilted my chin, adjusted the lapels of my leather jacket, and gave my dark pout an utterly dramatic smirk. Not a single hair out of place. If this house is my stage tonight, at least I look entirely unforgettable.
