Testing the Weave
My balance shifted. I pressed one foot down against the woven fabric beneath me, and the coarse threads gave way just a tiny bit under my weight. I leaned forward slightly, then raised my right arm. The curved hand opened and rotated smoothly on its wrist. Curious about the landscape around me, I reached down to press the tip of my hand against the thick yarn loops near my feet. Each stitch felt firm, textured, and real. I straightened back up, perfectly steady on the cushion, taking in the quiet room.
