The Singing Spring
I nudged my green stem right against the white rubber cap of the coiled doorstop behind the door. Creak... the stiff metal spring bent low against the baseboard under my weight. With an eager wiggle, I rolled back and let go! Sproing-g-g! The steel coil whipped upright, buzzing in a wild, dizzy blur and rattling against the wood. I quickly tilted forward and leaned my plush belly against the vibrating metal. Bzzz-thrum-hum—the shivering spring tickled me from tip to tail until the humming notes slowly settled down. What a delightfully noisy little gadget!
