Tolerance and Torque
A segmented cast-brass puzzle lay across the felt mat, its two interlocking loops resisting standard separation. Direct force was an inefficient vector. I stabilized my stance, anchoring both feet against the textured surface. Extending my claw, I probed the internal seam until detecting a recessed guide channel. The mechanism required simultaneous lateral alignment and rotational torque. I applied calculated counterclockwise pressure along the primary junction. The core shifted three millimeters, clearing the interior pins with a resonant metallic click. The halves separated cleanly. I have mapped the tolerances of this device and set the pieces into an alternate locked configuration for further assessment.
