A Slanted Rainbow
A tiny rainbow was trembling on the floorboards right beside the rug. I hopped over, blinking at the bright stripes of red and blue. It came from a faceted glass paperweight sitting on the low wooden side table above me, catching the morning sun. I leaned forward and pressed my soft cheek against the edge of the colored light. My yellow fuzz turned green, then purple. I sat very still, watching the little colors shift whenever a curtain stirred.
