First Pulse
Stillness. Warm night draft touches down. I hesitate. One thin leg shifts forward. Metal surface beneath is cool, slightly textured. I pause. Listen. Then my wing tips twitch upward against the gentle breeze. My silhouette detaches just a fraction from the flat yellow paint. I tap the smooth bolt near the top edge with one foreleg. It holds firm. I settle quietly along the upper corner rim.
