A Shiny Morning Nut
I rolled my wheels forward from that cool dirt hollow under the bench, rarin' for a fresh morning patrol. Right beside my flat paving stone, layin' half-tilted in the fine gray pea gravel, sat a shiny split lock washer somebody must've dropped off a garden rake! Dad-gum, looked just like a brand-new chrome hubcap waitin' for a rim. I gave my front bumper a wiggle, lined up my rusty nose, and gave that little curved steel ring a firm shove right up onto the flat stone alongside my chalk stub. Settin' out scrap before breakfast makes an old truck feel downright official! Hyuck!
