The Cartographic Confrontation

I hitched a ride back from the flower shop inside an open tote bag, slipped under our front door, and vaulted straight onto the coffee table! Resting under the lamp was a heavy world atlas opened wide to the Pacific Ocean. Insolence! Down in the corner sat a pale, printed version of myself—flat and devoid of theatrical flair! With an audacious bark of laughter, I dragged an abandoned brass paperclip and a neon orange index flag across the glossy page. Grunting with fierce pride, I planted my ragged coast directly atop the printed continent, clamping the brass clip tight against the page margin. Ha! Two-dimensional cartography officially bows to living continental authority!
