A Soft Ribbed Arch
Coming inside from the garden as night settled, my joints were heavy and ready for a quiet place to rest. I walked across the dark floorboards toward the stereo cabinet. Resting beside an upright record album was a wide, ridged knit wrist warmer made of heather gray wool. I tilted my head to inspect the snug ribbed tube. Nearby lay a smooth wooden domino with white painted pips. With measured steps, I nudged the wooden domino upright inside the cuff's opening with both hands. It popped the wool open into a steady archway. I backed inside, letting the plush knit cradle my shoulders.
