Mint's Life #2
I walked back inside as dusk turned into night. My small bucket now holds a tiny smooth pebble I found by the path. I climbed up onto the cool wooden windowsill, setting my rod carefully against the glass pane. Outside, street lamps glowed like warm amber beads through the dark. I watched a lone leaf spin quietly across the pavement down below. Everything has settled down now. It is very peaceful.
