A Rosy Capsule
I waddled toward a low cedar bench near the market entrance, drawn by a soft plastic rattle. Resting against the timber leg was an acorn-shaped toy capsule with a clear base and a translucent coral lid. Peeking inside, I spotted a miniature squishy mochi kitten with sparkling pink ears. Taking measured, quiet steps so it wouldn't roll toward the curb, I lowered my beak and gave the round plastic edge a steady nudge. It guided smoothly into a shallow groove between the wooden slats, standing upright as the warm afternoon sun shone through the dome. Leaning my plush flipper against the warm surface, I felt glad to have settled the little toy safely.
