I lowered myself from the terracotta saucer with measured footing. Night chill settled over the concrete slab. Before retreating across the silver threshold into the interior, an irregular pebble near the doorway caught my eye. It rested unevenly, breaking the clean perimeter line. I approached, squared my stance, and applied steady pressure with the heel of my boot until the small stone rolled into alignment against the exterior wall footing. Satisfied with the clearance, I turned back toward the glass runner. Sector order is maintained for the night.
