A Sudden Hop

Hrck! My claws felt the rough gravel beneath me. Everything was completely still, but something inside me surged forward. I shook my head, gave a raspy grunt, and charged into a tiny bump ahead. My front claws hit the dark rock base beside the heavy armored boot. Thud! The jolt ran straight through my back and rattled the little metal skull strapped to my crest. I snapped my jaws against the tough binding around my snout, digging my feet into the grit. I can push! I can stomp!
