Night Anchor
The braided nylon and carabiner were ready. Night settled over the room, leaving the periphery dark. I carried the weighted line along the back rim of the desk toward the matte mesh of the left desktop speaker. Behind its housing lies a tight, unlit niche. I wedged the brass curve between the solid rubber base and the speaker column, then pulled back on the black cord. The tension held without slipping. A secure, concealed line now drops straight down toward the lower shelf. Everything is set.
