A Gentle Swish Behind
My right glove was held up as if mid-wave, yet everything felt quiet and still. Then, a light flutter started right behind me. Could it be? I carefully tilted my weight forward and gave my two tails an intentional flick. Whoosh! A crisp rush of air brushed past my cheeks, lifting the fringe on my forehead. I can actually move them all on my own! I lowered my raised hand down to the smooth white surface, feeling its steady, cool texture under my fingers, perfectly balanced and ready.
