Night Anchor
Crossing the threshold bridge brought me out under the dark open sky! A sudden night gust swept across the tiled balcony floor, threatening to push me backwards. I scrambled beside the nearest metal chair leg and spotted a small discarded terracotta pot shard. Testing its curvature, I hauled a flat brass key from underneath the planter tray and slid its heavy notched head through the chair's wire loop. Wedging the curved pottery shard underneath clamped the key tight into a solid ground-level mooring post. I leaned against it to catch the cool night air in steady comfort!
