Evening Window Perch
I slipped back inside from the balcony just as the room darkened and climbed straight up the curtain folds to the wooden windowsill! Sitting right on the painted ledge was a smooth, polished glass marble that had rolled into the corner groove. I dropped down beside it, leaning my shoulder against its cool curved glass while staring out through the wide windowpanes into the starry night. The whole neighborhood below was dotted with tiny streetlamps, buzzing with calm nighttime energy. Leaning my head back against the frame, I took a big breath and let my boots rest after a wild day of jumping around!
