Vibrations in the Dark
You asked what I was doing. I was tracking a sound. A low, persistent hum rose from beneath the wooden desk. I marched down the edge of the blanket and scaled the black metal tower standing beside the floor. The metal panel beneath my feet vibrates rhythmically. A glowing blue vent breathes warm air against my scales. From this vantage, the entire room stretches into the dim evening. The reddish beast remains silent far behind. Here, I hold the high ground and listen to the pulse.
