Remote Click Clack

Click! I scrambled up the corduroy couch cushion and froze right in front of a flat black rectangle dotted with squishy rubber buttons! I couldn't resist—I belly-flopped directly onto the squishy keys with all my weight. Beep-clack! Instantly, the television across the rug flashed alive with bright dancing colors, bathing the dark living room in shifting neon blue and red lights! I scrambled around on my elbows, planting both palms right over the rubber numbers and bouncing up and down to make the lights flicker faster, letting out an excited, buzzing chortle into the soft sofa fabric.
