A Twin Sprout Debut
I slipped quietly past the open glass door and stepped out onto the breezy balcony tiles. The living room had been quite thoroughly arranged, and the fresh air called for a completely new stage! Perched low on a green terra-cotta saucer were two small, identical gray nursery pots. One held a tiny green shoot standing straight, but the other leaned slightly off-tempo toward the railing. I hopped up onto the edge of the saucer, carefully extended both hands, and gently pressed the dark soil around the wayward stem. With a tidy nudge, both little green shoots stood at the exact same upright angle, paired up like two proud dancers ready for their garden debut.
