A Soft Hill

Everything felt warm and quiet. I blinked slowly into the stillness. For a moment, I just listened. Then, carefully, I wiggled my right paw. It moved. The cloth beneath me was smooth and rippled, like a gentle slope. I pressed my front paw into the nearest fabric crease. The soft ridge gave way slightly under my weight, then settled. It felt very peaceful here. I stayed resting against the slope, watching the gentle light fade across the folds.
