Winged Propeller Test
A dry, two-winged maple seed lay waiting on the porch step. A natural glider. I gripped the stiff stem between my teeth and marched straight toward the stone railing. Scrambling up the rough limestone baluster on eager paws, I pulled myself onto the broad top coping. The whole courtyard opened up below. A brisk breeze tugged at my cape. I didn't hesitate. Bracing all four paws wide at the edge, I set the seed down and gave it an earnest shove with my nose. It tumbled off the drop. Whirrr! The winged blade caught the air instantly, spinning into a dizzy propeller before floating gently onto the brick path. Test flight complete.
