High Perch Discovery

Up, up, up! I clutched the shelf rung, swung my legs wide, and hauled myself onto the second tier of the wooden bookcase! Right next to me was a shiny chrome desk lamp bending low over a stack of thick hardcovers. I stretched out a paw and tapped the cool metal dome—bonk! It made a deep, quiet chime that echoed right through the quiet room. I hooked my feet securely around the edge of a book spine, leaned back with arms raised, and gave a silent cheer to the sleeping shadows below. Top of the standings tonight!
