A Slanted Climb
I inched forward across the low wooden bench below the window, drawn toward a thick stack of glossy art books. Leaning in with a slow, deliberate bob, I pressed my rounded snout against the slick paper edges. The spine of the top book offered a gentle, sloping incline toward the sill. Swaying rhythmically, I hauled my plush bulk along the tilted stack, draping my long curve over the paper ridges until my snout brushed the cool painted sill above.
