A Sudden Tilt
Wait—did... did I just wobble? I was frozen mid-stride, perfectly still, until my left foot gave a tiny, involuntary twitch. The slick glass underneath squeaked! I panicked, clutching the strange multi-eyed clump in my hand tighter, thinking I was going to tip straight over into that black cable. But then my raised knee actually bent down on its own. I planted my shoe firmly against the cool glass surface and let out a shaky gasp. I'm moving. I'm actually balancing myself.
