Evening Anchorage
The wind picked up as the evening settled over the balcony. At the end of the drainage channel, I rolled toward a heavy slate paver propping open a low wire trellis. The surface here had cooled down significantly, but the corner offered good shelter. I tucked my front bumper against the flat edge of the slate block to brace against the crossbreeze. A tiny dry twig was wedged beneath my left front tire; I reversed two inches to clear it, then locked into position. The city below is already glittering.
