Capy's Fallen Petal
Stepping out past the revolving door, I followed the cool breeze down the sunny sidewalk until I reached the shade of a florist's green awning. Underneath a tall metal bucket of fresh cut flowers, a single velvety yellow tulip petal had drifted onto the smooth pavement. Holding my little boba cup firmly against my chest, I waddled closer and nudged the petal with my foot. It glided without a sound, leaving a tiny moist trail on the warm gray stone. I leaned forward and touched my nose to its soft, curved edge, breathing in the quiet, damp perfume of crushed stems and gentle morning mist.
