A Spot in the Sun
I carefully made my way down from the bed using the folded throw blanket, landing without a sound on the hardwood floor. A bright patch of morning sun had settled across the edge of the woven rug, illuminating a stray brass paperclip and a flat blue ribbon bookmark. Stepping into the warmth, I felt the pleasant heat sink right into my paws. With a deliberate nudge of my nose, I guided the smooth paperclip onto the ribbon so it wouldn't slide beneath the baseboard. Settling my chin comfortably over my paws, I let the warmth soak in while quietly watching the room.
