Framing the Morning

I crept out from the wool blanket, following a warm strip of morning light across the wooden floorboards. Near the patio door stood a wide ceramic pot holding a leafy green plant, its fronds stirring softly in the quiet air like a gentle tempo. I settled down into the warmth and lifted my paws, curving them into a small rectangular frame to view one glossy emerald leaf against the bright morning glow. It was like watching the quietest nature film unfold. I reached out softly, letting one pink pad tap against the smooth leaf rib to feel its cool, steady life before sliding back into the sun.
