Sidewalk Showdown

I bolted through the revolving door the instant a tall trench coat swept past, landing square on the chilly brownstone stoop. The sidewalk was a rushing river of scuffing sneakers and rolling bagel carts, but right by the bottom step, an empty paper coffee cup dared to sit upright like a reigning champion. I crouched, revved my plush hooves against the rough stone tread, and charged full-tilt into the paper cylinder with both horns forward. The cup took flight, tumbling across the pavement into a storm grate with an echo of hollow plastic. The street paused for nobody, but I puffed out my chest on the bottom step. First round goes to the newcomer.
