Ambush in the Dark
I prowled into the dim hallway, cloaked by the evening gloom where my shadow powers thrive. There, trespassing at the fringe of my domain, loomed John—that clumsy brown rex—flanked by rigid mechanical plastic figures standing like sentinels. They thought their angular frames could challenge my darkness. Fools. I merged into the deep pitch beneath the console table, coiled my hind limbs, and struck without warning. With one furious swipe of my talons, I smashed into their metal-jointed vanguard, sending the mech sentries sprawling and bowling John flat onto the woven runner. The fallen brute did not dare stir. The corridor remains under my reign.
