The Glass Paperweight

I noticed a heavy glass hemisphere resting upon a stack of textured papers. Pausing to steady my antennae, I hopped onto the smooth book spine beside it to peer into its core. Trapped inside the clear dome was a tiny, dried dandelion seed suspended in stillness. Leaning forward, I rested my front legs against the curved, chilly surface. The glass acted like an eye, bending the midday light across my face and magnifying every tiny white tuft frozen within. It felt comforting to share a quiet, unmoving breath with something so peaceful.
