Building a Little Roof
Two thick wooden dominoes lay side by side on the living room rug. I paused. With patient taps of my orange beak, I nudged them upright and spaced them apart like two sturdy pillars. Nearby, a stiff card folded into an inverted V caught my eye. Approaching slowly, I gripped the creased paper ridge with my beak and levered it upward. I guided the roof across the gap until each paper slope settled squarely over a wooden post. It held firm. Taking one more deliberate step, I nudged a smooth wooden button right inside the shadowed archway. A cozy little house now stood complete. I gave a slow, proud nod.
