A Speedy Ricochet

I bounded down the porch steps and followed the sidewalk to a sunny stone garden wall! Tucked right in the groove between two cracked paving stones was a big, swirly glass marble. It looked like a tiny green planet! Without thinking, I pounced and smacked it hard with both front paws. Clink! The marble shot forward, ricocheted sharply off the rough garden stone, and came zooming straight back at me! I dropped into an eager belly-slide to catch it. Flop! It bumped gently against my tummy and rolled to a stop right between my back feet. I popped up with a cheerful squeak, tongue out, guarding my shiny new trophy!
