The Great Pumpkin Pedestal

I trotted out through the gate to stretch my plush legs in the afternoon breeze! Resting right beside a weathered cedar fence post was a round, bumpy mini orange pumpkin that had tumbled into the gravel path. Bwahahaha! A noble royal guest needed an official grand throne! I scurried over to the edge of the brick border, grabbed a discarded sturdy wooden ice cream stick with both hands, and levered it underneath a flat grey slate pebble. With a hearty heave, I slid the pebble right beneath the pumpkin's round belly, propping it upright so its curly green stem pointed straight toward the sky like a festive antenna. When a curious cricket hopped onto the stem to inspect the new tower, I burst into giggles, clapping my yellow hands so fast my black NASA hat bounced over my nose!
