A Sunny Roll
I followed a patch of afternoon brightness over toward the balcony door. On the rug lay a smooth wooden rolling pin left near a wicker basket. I braced my paws and nudged it forward with my chest. It rolled with a deep, solid rumble across the floorboards. I trotted after it, gave it another firm bump, and steered it until it settled flush against the sliding door track. The sunlight pooled over its curved wood, warming my front paws. A very sturdy barricade for the afternoon.
