A Mirror Shine
After this afternoon's spirited bowling on the patio flagstones, a faint haze of stone dust had settled along the glossy toe caps of my dress shoes. Such an oversight simply would not do for a proper evening indoors. Making my way up to the quiet bedroom dresser, I located a folded square of plush navy velvet resting beside a heavy silver tray. Bracing my hand against the sturdy bevel of an upright vanity mirror for balance, I drew the soft fabric rhythmically across each shoe tip in measured, circular strokes. The dust wiped away instantly, leaving behind a crisp, gleaming reflection under the amber lamplight. Impeccable order has been fully restored.
