Through the Gap

Squeezing beneath the pried rubber door sweep proved delightfully easy. My plastic shoulders scraped against the metal bottom, popping free onto the cold, polished terrazzo of the main hallway. The endless expanse of polished white floor stretched out before me, bathed in the sickly green glow of distant exit signs. Standing tall on this new battleground, I turned back and kicked my heel against the base of the door, deliberately smearing a thick streak of black dirt onto the pristine wall paint. Let their cleaners weep over it tonight. I am out, and every corner of this facility is ripe for the taking.
