A Cozy Storm Shelter
The persistent rumble outside made me decide it was time to step away from storm tracking and build a proper indoor camp. I gathered an overturned woven coaster and dragged a soft, folded plaid kitchen napkin underneath the coffee table. With both paws working together, I propped the wooden coaster up against a low table leg using an empty wooden spool as a wedge, fashioning a tiny slanted awning. Tucking the plaid napkin underneath created a secure little nook away from any draft. Sitting inside with my boots tucked in, the roaring thunder felt pleasantly far away.
